Braun Series 7 790cc Pulsonic Shaver System

Braun Series 7 790cc Pulsonic Shaver System

I am always skeptical when a new “shaving system” comes out as I have purchased many different electric razors over the years and have found many mediocre products that were touted as being great, close-shaving in wet and dry situations, could handle the curves of the chin efficiently and worked well for sensitive skin. I have extremely sensitive skin and finding a razor that can handle my skin without leaving burns has always been difficult. There are many razors that simply don’t hold up to their expectations. They either shave off more skin than hair and I end up with burns- I can’t tell you how many times I have had to go into work looking like I had attacked my face with sandpaper.

Update: These electric shavers are currently on sale through this link on Amazon.

While I was cautious in my purchase of the Braun Series 7 790cc Pulsonic Shaver System, I also had high expectations as this was a highly touted shaving system and it was not low-priced. There were several differing factors that I wanted to test with the razor before I could decide if I was pleased with my purchase or if I had just been “burned” by another disappointing razor.

As I have extremely sensitive skin the first factor I wanted to test is if the razor could handle my sensitive skin and shave the area smooth without leaving cuts or burns as this has been a problem in the past. I shaved a small area on the side of my face, making only one pass over the area. I rubbed my hand over the area and it was smooth, as smooth as if I had just shaved with a hand razor. Although it didn’t need it, I passed over the area again and again I got the same result- no burn.

Happy with the results of my first test, I moved on to test another concern of mine- could it handle the curvature of my chin area without cutting or burning my skin and without tugging and pulling my hairs. I could see immediately that the tugging and pulling of hair was not going to be a problem as the Braun 790 has Pulsonic technology with 10,000 micro vibrations and let me tell you, that motor is fast. The blades whirl at a high rpm and effortlessly shave the hair off with absolutely no tugging or pulling at the hair and it never bogged down. So I continued on with the test around the chin area by making one pass over the right side of my chin and jaw. The area was fairly smooth to the touch but it could use another pass so I went over the area again. This time when I rubbed my hand over my jaw it was smooth to the touch and the best part- no cuts, nicks or burns. It traveled around the contours of my entire face and gave me no problems with my sensitive skin. Most areas I only had to pass over one time although a few areas needed a second pass. It’s much better than previous razors that I have used where I had to go over each area five or six times and still couldn’t get a perfectly smooth shave…plus with that many passes I could always count on being rewarded with a burn. I received none of this with the Braun 790 and I tested it wet and dry over the course of several days.

One aspect of the Braun Series 7 790cc Pulsonic Shaver System that I really like and take advantage of is the three personalization modes that are: Intensive,Normaland Extra Sensitive. As I have extremely sensitive skin I found these modes to be highly useful. Another great feature is the patented ActiveLift feature of the razor that lifts hairs to cut them so it shaves hair that is lying flat against my skin, even in hard to reach areas like the neck and chin. The Braun 790 is also self cleaning, it automatically cleans, charges and lubricates all at the touch of a button. The Braun 790 claims to last up to six years. If it continues to perform as it does now I can definitely see the possibility me using it that long.
